Beach Hockey

Yes thats right Beach Hockey, well thats what the pitch yesterday at Llandudno’s hockey club pitch was like, we were not far from the sea. But ive never played on such a slow and sand covered pitch. The ball speed was no where the standard im normally use too, i guess that helped the home team much more in there yellow and blue shirts. Like a bunch of bumblebees the way they stumbled up the pitch. We did not try to mention to them the Welsh defeat against france in a little known game of Rugby, though saying Bonjour while exchanges hellos between captain may have stired a few things haha!

Overall the match was quite competitve with good attacking hockey from both sides, but the home side were more fit and agile and younger, which played on their side and they scored countless goals, down to some defencive errors and the midfield been tired after been given the run around like a yo yo.

But when we did break forward, we did with confidence and speed, i played a stint upfront and relished it as it was like been back up front for University, but was happily switched back to midfield where i had to work, and made a good partnership with Matt Fox allowing him to score a great goal, as i drew out the defence.

Later on in the game KP another University player on his debut for the 6ths scored from a short corner and then became our goal drought as the home team took advantage and made it 8 by the end of the game, one of their players took 6 of those 8!

Overall a good game, though a bad pitch didnt help at all.

Chester 2 Llandudno 8

*Though it wasnt a league game so no points lost.

* Look forward to Timperley next saturday.
