k2 the future

Well i have just been testing out the new k2 wordpress theme framework nightly release, and the recent changes that have been made to the framework are really nice, this can be seen over at my test are and demo area at demo.8bitdesign.co.uk.

The new nightly release add new columns and new widget placement for the theme which i really like, this allows new themes much more flexibility. I will wait until this is released before i stop updating any of my current themes.

Its looking very good, hopefully this will be in the next release. :)

Deepdale Apartment Website

I have just finished building my Aunt and Uncle a website for their apartment in the lake district, which they are renting out when they arent using it. The website i have built is very simple and is built using wordpress and the theme framework of k2, which i still strongly support even though development has pretty much stopped for the framework now which is a shame as it was reveloutionary when it was first released, it still is now to all extent.

The website i have enjoyed making and constructing although simple, it does look very good in my opnion and functions very well, the k2 feature of allowing to choose what is seen on each page is a very handy function as it allows for dynamic and changing image sidebars which are nice.  Overall i like the design of the website as it does the job and nothing more, it doesnt need to be anymore fancy.

I have just finished my new wordpress theme called “Jackson” in honour of the great Micheal Jackson the legendary singer who passed away recently. The wordpress theme is quite simply, it is based on the stable framework called K2 which powers this blog. It has a simple header with a menu blended into the background and a simple colour scheme to match, simplistic is the key.

To install make sure that you are running the wordpress framework k2, and simply drop the folder jackson into you k2 styles folder within your wordpress theme directory.  Active from the k2 options menu, and you new theme will be ready to go.

Website update

Well i’ve updated this blog website once again, and i’ve come back to my favourite theme called k2. Although i went away from it for awhile, and tried out various different themes and ideas, i still prefer this theme package over any others. As this theme has some of the best functionality and flexibility i have seen in any wordpress theme. So after downloading the latest version, i have resided at staying with k2.

Hopefully will get around to makeing a new theme header image and perhaps a new theme. :)

Well i have decided to switch back to k2 theme for wordpress, as much as i like the Carrington theme it was nice to try it out for awhile. But im sticking with k2 its far nicer :)
