Hockey Roundup

Played hockey at the weekend on Saturday at Chester vs Goldbourne, we had a great game.

Especially as the week before we played top of the league Neston hockey club and managed to come away with an impressive team performance and a draw, although we could have won that game in the dieing few minutes of the game when Matt managed to run through most of their team before been taken out by their goal keeper.

Game finished Chester 1 Neston 1

Saturdays game was very much the same sort of game against Neston, but what Goldbourne lacked in skill, they made up with brute force, and sometimes it was more of a game of rugby than hockey. We fought hard and at times, we thought it could have gone our way, but in the end they scored one goal. But we fought back and we couldnt just managed to get it past their keeper, all in all a great game. We lost our four games unbeaten streak, but we have done well in recent game.

Now i look forward to the game on saturday and also to the game on Wednesday for University.

Golf anyone?

Well last night was the traditional pub golf meet of the University of Chester hockey team, i really are having trouble remembering the events of last night. I am sure the pictures will show how it was a good night or bad night, depends which way you look at it.

Busy Busy

Just a few things im doing at the moment, and what ive been up to of recent days and weeks:

Since moving back to Chester i have been unbelievable busy as i now have a social life once more, and its pretty hectic to say the least, ive only been back in Chester less than two weeks and already been out socialising at least four or five times, but all good times! Particularly enjoyed going out on monday, back to rbs which was an awesome night :) .

In work im enjoying it, been playing around with sharepoint server which although clunky and chunky is quite powerful indeed especially as a CMS.

University work is progressing well, trying to get my last 4000 word essay written so i can then begin to start on my dissertation after Christmas, but progress is slow and left to the weekends, i plan to nail it on the head this Sunday and get it sorted.

Hockey, ive played for university once, but because of working i haven’t been able too much as i like, but been training and training with Chester too, and playing on Saturday for the 6ths, well its a start at least. :)

Flat, im all settled largely into my flat, still need to put some photos up when i get time, though still without a tv, but never mind.

All in all pretty damn busy.

Hockey Pains

Well ive been hockey training for two nights in a row, and my body aches. I havent played hockey in two months or more, but generally my fitness doesnt seem that bad. Was going to go hockey training tonight at Chester Club, but i dont think it would be a wise thing as it maybe too much for my body to take.

Also im going to be playing for the University once again, i still qualify even though im a postgraduate, its going to be fun wearing my number nine shirt once, and an honour to play for the University again.

New Job

My new job at the University of Chester is going really, well i am enjoying what i am doing, although my job hasnt been specified exactly what i am doing, its the last week of my two week induction and i now have a greater understanding what the department of LIS (Learning and Information Services) does for the University and how without the LIS department the University would struggle to function without the I.T support.

Overall really interesting so far :) And loving it :)
